I renovated an old apartment without a huge budget

I bought an older apartment and renovated it step by step while trying to keep the costs under control. I can share how I planned the work, decided what to do myself and where I learned that saving money was not always worth it.

Before starting, I underestimated how many small decisions were involved. A seemingly simple repair often affected another part of the apartment, and waiting for one task to finish could delay several others. I eventually started planning the renovation in stages rather than trying to solve everything at once.

I can share how I created a basic renovation budget, compared materials, chose which jobs to outsource and which ones I attempted myself. I can also talk about mistakes that cost me additional time and money, and the things I would prioritize differently if I were renovating another older apartment.
